The Salvatore brothers always say that secrets are commodities in Devil's Creek. And today, I'm airing all of their dirty little secrets, starting with the inspiration for the Princes, The Devil's Knights, and the town of Devil's Creek.
The image below is how I picture the Princes as I write them. Marcello is the top left, Damian is the top right, Bastian is the bottom left, and Luca is the bottom right.
This probably isn't much of a surprise, but did you know the Princes of Devil's Creek series started as The Vampire Diaries fan fiction? I was bored sitting in the house in 2020 and decided to write my own version of my four favorite vampires - Damon Salvatore, Stefan Salvatore, Klaus Mikaelson, and Elijah Mikaelson.
If you really look at the princes, you'll see Klaus in Luca, Damon in Damian, Elijah in Bash, and Stefan in Marcello.

This is the original version of The Devil's Knights series that was my initial inspiration before deciding to turn this story into a reverse harem. I unpublished the books years ago but kept the character names, The Knights, and the world when I wrote what is now Cruel Princes.

Greenwich, Connecticut is the real-world equivalent of the fictional town of Devil's Creek, Connecticut. The town of Devil's Creek is a cute, quaint place you'd want to visit in real life... if you don't mind the Russian Mafia shooting at you or potentially getting kidnapped. Lol
